Chris Rock ha sido nombrado anfitrión de los Premios Oscar 2016, marcando la segunda vez que el comediante y cineasta estará al frente de la entrega de premios.
La 88va edición de los Premios de la Academia está programada para emitirse en vivo el 28 de febrero de 2016 por NBC. La presentación también será televisada en vivo en más de 225 países y territorios a nivel mundial. Previamente, Rock presentó la 77ma edición de los Oscar en 2005.

“Chris Rock es un comediante poderoso quien traerá una gran energía al evento y estamos honrados de tenerlo”, dijo Paul Lee, presidente de ABC Entertainment Group.
“Estoy muy contento de ser el anfitrión de los Oscar”, agregó Rock. “Se siente bien estar de regreso”.
“Chris puede ser mejor conocido por su comedia de stand-up, pero pensamos en él como un innovador creativo en muchas otras formas”, dijo Dawn Hudson, CEO de la Academia. “Él no tiene miedo de su destreza. No podíamos estar más felices en darle la bienvenida nuevamente a los Oscar”.
